The film follows a trio of mechanics who are also husbands—Ravi, Rambabu, and Jambulingam—who live with their wives Geeta, Janaki, and Subbalakshmi. Their easygoing, debt-fuelled lifestyle puts a heavy strain on the family finances, and the women shoulder the burden to keep the households afloat. The men’s carefree attitude clashes with the harsh reality of money troubles, setting the stage for a blend of humor and tension that threads through the story.

Into this fragile balance steps Baby, also known as Bala Tripura Sundari, a diligent neighbor married to Master. Baby’s presence offers a glimmer of opportunity: a chance for the wives to earn a living through her company. But the trio dismisses the possibility, treating the wives as if they should remain at home, and they reject Baby’s proposal on the grounds that the wives are “minors” who should not work. When the company owner later trims the yearly bonus, the husbands’ complaints grow louder, and the wives find themselves dismissed from their jobs as a consequence of this conflict.

On Jambulingam’s advice, the three husbands seek help from Appala Raju, a wealthy friend in Bangalore who is involved in illicit dealings. The plan to “train” the wives officially falters as they become entangled with Appala Raju, and the police intervene, leaving the men battered and the families troubled. Meanwhile, the wives learn of the husbands’ mounting debts at Peon Bezawada and are forced to endure further unemployment. With Baby’s support, they regroup and push back against financial ruin, showing a stubborn resolve to keep their families intact.

As pressures mount, the husbands’ anger and biases intensify, and they end up expelling the wives from the home. Master and Baby step in to offer shelter, allowing the women to chart a new path. In parallel, Ravi’s daughter faces a heart defect and requires urgent surgery, a crisis that further solidifies the wives’ solidarity and determination. The women rally their colleagues, working extra hours to gather the funds needed for care and stability.

The plot turns as the husbands return to Appala Raju, hoping to salvage their situation with one final deal. This time, the men get involved in a ganja-smuggling scheme, but the police seize the operation before it can unfold. In a turn of redemption, Master helps clear the men’s names, and the story moves toward a hopeful resolution. In the end, the husbands acknowledge their past mistakes and support the wives in pursuing new job opportunities, folding the lessons learned into a shared vision of family life—one where every member can contribute and find stability together.
