John Santhosh Pandit and Radha Souparnika are a couple whose love crosses religious lines, a relationship they pursue with quiet resolve even as their families resist. They decide to marry and begin thinking about their future, including a plan to lease a portion of a house to help fund their new life together. The story then introduces Yeshodha and her daughter Rugmini, who are short on money and see an opportunity to rent out part of their home—but only to Hindu tenants. In a bid to secure the house, John changes his name to Krishnan, hoping the adjustment will ease the path for them to live there. The arrangement brings its own tensions, and the couple must navigate ongoing disagreements rooted in their different religious backgrounds.

As the film unfolds, Radha and John face the practical and emotional consequences of their cross-faith romance. A recurring thread is how their identities and beliefs influence decisions about home life, community acceptance, and each other’s trust. The couple’s commitment is tested by suspicion and cultural expectations, even as they strive to build a life together in the face of resistance from some quarters.

In a separate arc, Radha and John lend a hand to Sreelatha, a woman who refuses to eat after the death of her husband. John employs some crafty tactics to nudge Sreelatha toward a healthier routine, and her gratitude grows as she starts to make small changes. She thanks him with a call and even invites him to take part in a forthcoming interview, a gesture that makes Radha uneasy and sparks tension between the two women.

John’s compassionate nature is a steady undercurrent throughout the narrative. He instinctively helps anyone in trouble, including his own brother during a brutal street fight, an act that leaves him with a serious head injury and lands him in the hospital. While Radha rushes out to fetch medicine for him, tragedy strikes in her absence: she is killed by Rugmini’s Uncle. The shock of her death sets off a chain of violent revenge. When John learns of Radha’s fate, he sets out to confront Rugmini’s Uncle and his armed goons, a mission that culminates in his imprisonment for murder. The story follows the heavy toll of these events and the ways the lives of John and Radha—together and separately—are forever altered by love, loyalty, and the costs of vengeance.

Eventually, life after such a harsh turning point begins to unfold in a new direction for John, marking a lasting shift in his path and in the way the people around him respond to the consequences of their choices. The movie leaves the audience with a sense of how a relationship tested by faith, family pressure, and tragedy can endure in different forms, even as its characters confront the consequences of every action taken in the name of love.
