What Is Koi About?
The premise of Koi without spoilers.
Set in the 1970s, the story follows Fumiko, a university student who becomes romantically entangled with her assistant professor, Katase Shintaro, and his wife, Hinako. A shocking incident occurs on February 28, 1972, when Shintaro is found severely injured and an electronics store employee, Saito Takumi, is found dead in a bungalow in Karuizawa. Fumiko and Hinako are present at the scene, and the case is quickly ruled a crime of passion, leading to Fumiko's imprisonment. Decades later, a report writer, Torigai Mitsuhiko, investigates the case and interviews the now elderly Fumiko, uncovering the truth behind the events of that fateful night.
