On a remote island off the coast of Africa, a meteorite crashes into the landscape and, over the years, natural forces bury it beneath new growth and quiet renewal. A team of six construction workers is ferried to this uninhabited patch of earth to lay down an airstrip for an oil drilling outfit, a project that could define their futures. At the center of the effort stands Lloyd Kelly, a recovering alcoholic who sees this assignment as his final, crucial chance to redeem himself and salvage his precarious career.
