The story follows Zaheem, the central figure who seems to be run over by everyone he loves. After his girlfriend tells him she plans to visit Lahore, he heads to a party that his friends, Sam and Moti, urged him to attend. At the party, he discovers that his girlfriend is marrying her cousin in Lahore, which sets off a whirl of frantic decisions and shattered expectations. In a rush of emotion, he tries to reach Lahore via Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, only to learn that the Pakistan Authority of Civil Aviation has banned all flights from Karachi due to a workers’ strike.
Desperate for a way out, Zaheem begs his neighbors to lend him their Jeep: Maryam and Zeezo. They initially refuse, but after some reluctance they finally agree to help, even though Maryam’s father guards the Jeep jealously and won’t let anyone use it easily. The trio (and Zeezo) set off, but their plans encounter a rough patch when they stop at a hotel for the night. The receptionist asks for a marriage certificate and other unnecessary paperwork, a moment that is interrupted by the intrusion of a Sindhi Landlord and his goons. The landlord and his henchmen scold the receptionist for letting Zaheem stay with a woman and force him to grant Zaheem a room, adding another layer of tension to an already strained journey.
The day continues with an awkward charm as Zaheem attempts to win Maryam over with a playful Cornetto proposal, and the group sits down to breakfast. In the meantime, Moti goes to the toilet and meets a Pashtun man; a misunderstanding escalates quickly as Zaheem ends up punching the stranger before they manage to move on. Moti insists he knows a shortcut, even though the map proves to be wrong, leaving Zaheem waking up to realize they are not in Lahore. Tempers flare as Zaheem punches Moti, and Maryam gently corrects him, reminding him to keep his head in the game.
From there, the journey resumes with new energy, but soon Zeezo takes the wheel and a mishap forces them to pull over. The Pashtun man re-enters the story, tagging along in exchange for Zaheem listening to his tale, and the man asks for a favor: to take Sam for a day. After Sam is returned, the group pushes toward Lahore and finally reaches the wedding ceremony they aimed for.
At the wedding, Maryam spots her father among the guests, seen sharing a drink with a woman named Khushi, even though alcohol is prohibited in their Muslim culture. Maryam’s mother is spoken of as having died, underscoring the gravity of the family dynamics in the room. As the day unfolds, Zaheem wrestles with his feelings, initially professing love for his girlfriend but gradually realizing that his deepest affection lies with Maryam. The movie builds toward a heartfelt moment as Zaheem musters his courage to propose to Maryam, and she accepts—only for the tension to spike when her father catches them in the act, leaving the climactic moment charged with cultural expectations, familial scrutiny, and the power of true love.
