Three unemployed friends — Kaalkattu Kaliyaperumal (KK), Power Kumar, and Shiva — spend their days drinking and chasing girls. When a girl named Sowmiya moves in with her family opposite Shiva, the trio is smitten. To keep things fair, they agree that Sowmiya will choose her own boyfriend.

The three try different approaches to win her over. [Shiva] helps Sowmiya’s Aunt with household chores, showing a caring, dutiful side. KK signs up to learn singing with Sowmiya’s uncle, hoping music will win her favor. [Power Kumar] joins Sowmiya’s Father to learn Bharatanatyam, aiming to impress with discipline and performance.

One day, with none of Sowmiya’s family at home, the three confess their love, leaving Sowmiya perplexed. Following a neighbour’s advice, she reveals that she loves actor Simbu. The plan to present Simbu as a birthday gift falls apart when Simbu denies knowing her. They hire a thug named Kolaveri David to kidnap Simbu, but Kolaveri David ends up kidnapping Sowmiya instead. Simbu refuses to help, so Shiva, KK, and Power race to rescue Sowmiya from David. In the end, Sowmiya chooses Shiva, and Power and KK had earlier beaten Sowmiya’s uncle and father, leading to their eventual marriage.
