Arulnithi plays Madhiazhagan, a dejected aspiring filmmaker, who wakes up to a chilling scene: Shraddha Srinath as Malarvizhi Bharatidhasan lies dead in her room after a night he cannot fully recall. The shock and confusion pull him into a frantic puzzle as he tries to recollect the moments that led to this tragedy, especially the moments spent with Malar the previous evening at a pub. Desperately, he rummages through the room, hoping to find some clue that will clear his name or at least explain why he woke up bound and surrounded by bloodless fear.

As his memory fragments, Madhiazhagan discovers the police are already circling the scene, and he overhears neighbors discussing that the CCTV covering the parking area and lobby—particularly for the K-13 flat—had been damaged. The police grow more suspicious by the moment, and they demand entry into the flat. Since Malarvizhi’s phone is switched off, the officers call her roommate, Pavithra, played by Gayathrie Shankar, to fetch the keys and unlock the door. In a desperate bid to buy time, Madhi attempts a risky escape through the bathroom to the terrace, catching snippets of the police discussing the lack of access and planning to check the terrace as well. He slips back into the flat through the bathroom door and hides, trying to stay unseen as the cunning stakes of the night unfold.

Through a careful and unsettling search of Malarvizhi’s life, Madhi learns that she is not just a mysterious stranger but a writer who had penned a story about a friend who conceived through artificial insemination because her husband could not, a detail that adds a strange layer to the mystery surrounding her. Pavithra’s backstory also unfolds—her husband grew angry and left her in a difficult state, a grievance that fuels Pavithra’s bitterness toward Malarvizhi. Gradually, Madhiazhagan realizes that Malarvizhi was not a random bar acquaintance; she had been following him for a short time, and she apparently orchestrated this entire sequence to spark inspiration for his own film. He recalls that she even damaged the CCTV herself, an act meant to protect him in some hidden way, a manipulation that complicates his understanding of truth and guilt.

With mounting tension, Madhi decides to use what he has learned as raw material for a new story, intending to turn Pavithri’s life and Malarvizhi’s last night into his next film. He manages a narrow escape as the power in the entire flat suddenly cuts out, and the night’s events peel away from reality into a cinematic echo. The scene then shifts in a startling meta-move: everything we watched until now is revealed to be a movie within the world of the film, directed by Dilip, a blockbuster that the audience is watching. A success party for that film is set up by the producer, where Madhi unexpectedly encounters the on-screen heroine, Malarvizhi. He leaves the party early and returns to his own flat, and the final twist makes plain that the story he wrote was inspired by the real murder-like events surrounding Malarvizhi, hinting at a dangerous blur between fiction and the life that sparked it.
