The film opens with Inspector Manimaran accepting a high-stakes assignment to confront Don Junga, joined by Durai Singam. The moment sets a tense tone for a story that threads through loyalty, family legacy, and a fight to reclaim a past that haunts the present.
Back in Pollachi, Junga works as a bus conductor and is in love with Thoppuli. A sudden fight unsettles him, and his mother, Junga’s mother, fears the bitter pattern of spending that accompanied his father Ranga and grandfather Linga. Those two dons lived with expensive tastes, and their years of excess led to the loss of their theatre, Cinema Paradise, which was sold to Kumarasamy Chettiyaar. The memory of those days lingers as a looming reminder that Junga could slip into the same cycle. Yet Junga vows to break that cycle: he will not become a don like his forebears and will reclaim the family’s theatre.
To pursue this goal, he heads to Chennai with Yo Yo. There, he reshapes himself into a ruthless, methodical figure—“miserly” in his savings, focused on restoring what was taken from his kin. His resolve pushes him to cut ties with Thoppuli temporarily, choosing a path that he believes will secure a more luxurious life for her in the long run, including the audacious aim to gift her with 365 saris—one for each day of the year. The personal sacrifice underscores a central tension: love and loyalty on one side, and a relentless plan to recover a family legacy on the other.
As the plot thickens, the theatre’s fate becomes more pressing. Chettiyaar is preparing to sell Cinema Paradise to a foreign company, threatening the last vestige of the family’s cultural footprint. Junga confronts Chettiyaar at his home, offering him a crore to buy back the theatre, only to be met with insult. The insult hardens his resolve, and he declares that he will retrieve the theatre no matter the cost. In a daring and dangerously optimistic move, he decides to kidnap Chettiyaar’s daughter Yazhini, who is staying in Paris, hoping the leverage will swing the deal in his favor. He travels there with [Yo Yo], ready to gamble everything for his family’s legacy. The plan takes an unexpected turn when an Italian mafia group abducts Yazhini to force the release of their imprisoned leader, turning a personal mission into a high-stakes international conflict.
In a tense confrontation amid the Parisian underworld, Junga reveals to Chettiyaar that Yazhini has been kidnapped, and he fights with the mafia to rescue her from their grip. The escape that follows proves pivotal: Yazhini and Junga manage to slip away from danger, and the mafia’s demands are redirected toward a different outcome. With Yazhini safe, Chettiyaar agrees to relinquish the theatre to Junga’s family, provided Yazhini is returned unharmed. The resolution cements a fragile but hopeful restoration of Cinema Paradise, tying together the threads of love, loyalty, and a boy-turned-don who dares to rewrite a family’s difficult past.
