They conspire to strip him of his future and falsely persuade their father that Joseph was killed by wild wolves. The result is a drastic turn of fortunes: Joseph is sold into slavery in Egypt and stripped of the life he hoped to build at home. The betrayal plants a seed of resilience in him, and his early trials set the stage for a dramatic arc of rise, fall, and eventual forgiveness.

In Egypt, Joseph enters the service of Potiphar and earns a measure of trust through his competence and steadfast demeanor. Joseph’s gift is finally recognized, and he interprets the king’s dreams, offering a plan to weather the coming crisis: store a fifth of each year’s harvest to ration during the years of famine. Impressed by his wisdom, the Pharaoh elevates Joseph to a position of extraordinary power, granting him the title of prime minister and the name Zaphnath-Paaneah. This ascent reshapes Joseph’s life and sets the stage for a reunion that will test loyalty, faith, and family bonds.

During this period, Joseph marries Asenath and together they have two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, each bearing a name that foreshadows future tribes and blessings. A time of plenty gives way to scarcity, and Joseph’s brothers travel to Egypt to buy grain, not realizing the powerful man who now presides over their fate is the brother they once betrayed. Joseph orders Simeon to be imprisoned as a safeguard until they bring Benjamin, their youngest brother, to prove the brothers’ story.

A cautious reunion unfolds when the brothers return with Benjamin. A feast is laid before them, and a tense moment arises when Benjamin faces punishment, only to be spared by the brothers’ willingness to take his place. The brothers’ honesty and remorse become clear, and they confess their distant crime of selling Joseph. In a moment of dramatic revelation, Joseph finally reveals his identity to them. The long-suppressed emotions unravel into reconciliation, and he forgives his brothers. The family is reunited, and Joseph is reconciled with his father Jacob.

The film closes with a poignant note on lineage and destiny: Joseph’s bones are carried into the land of Israel, symbolizing the enduring ties of family and faith.
