Aravind Shivashankar is a 26-year-old youth who was brought up in an ashram run by Harish Chandra. His upbringing grants him strong moral values, but when he leaves his home, these beliefs are challenged by a corrupt social system. He resolves to fight immorality by taking on corrupt bureaucrats.

Along with his close circle — his friend Suresh, the lawyer Rajasekhar, the journalist Gopi, and his girlfriend Indumathi — he embarks on a mission to root out corruption. They devise a fake persona named Harish Chandra, created from a modified image of Aravind, and use it to pressure government officials into accepting bribes. Their ruse leads to the exposure of 147 officials, including Indumathi’s father, a court judge, and a Member of Parliament.

That sweeping exposure prompts retaliation from the officials, who unite under the MP, the judge, and Sathenapalli Savithri, an IAS officer, to confront Aravind and his team. To counter this threat, they plan to enlist a look-alike who can resemble Harish. The chosen man is Maya Kannan, a 42-year-old who conducts underground work for the Tamil Nadu government and is hinted to be a womanizer.

With the government promising a hefty payoff of 14.7 crores, the officials hope to prove that Harish is a real person. A hospital employee from Pune, who is also connected to the 147, leaks the plot to Aravind, making him fear that his crusade could fail. He travels to Tamil Nadu to prevent Kannan from presenting himself as Harish, a confrontation that leads to a tense courtroom showdown.

During the trial, Aravind and his team are crestfallen when Kannan seemingly asserts Harish’s identity. Then comes a twist: Kannan reveals that he has actually been supporting Aravind from the start. The court rules in favor of Aravind, and Kannan explains who he is—a psychology graduate who runs orphanages and senior homes for young girls and the elderly, dedicating the 14.7 crores to these causes.

As Aravind and Kannan step out of the courthouse, attackers hired by the corrupt officials strike. A fierce fight ensues, with the public joining in to help. Kannan sustains fatal injuries while protecting Aravind, and he dies, leaving Aravind and his team devastated. The closing credits underscore that Aravind and his allies ultimately succeed in their fight against corruption.
