At the center is Mithra, a marriage counselor whose unconventional methods begin to complicate both her cases and her own life. She counsels two married couples and watches their struggles unfold: Rangesh and Pavithra, who share a home with their child, and Arjun and Divya, whose partnership feels strained by ambition and communication gaps. In the first relationship, [Rangesh] works in IT while Pavithra stays at home to care for the family. He fat-shames her as a way to vent his dissatisfaction with his own work, a sting that pushes Pavithra toward the gym, where she begins to sculpt her body and, importantly, her sense of self. As she loses weight and gains confidence, she realizes she wants to pursue her own goals, not just placate others.

One day, an incident at work causes [Rangesh] to lose his job, and his personal unhappiness remains a heavy cloud. Pavithra’s transformation continues, and she becomes more self-assured even as his mood darkens. He confides to Mithra that his misery stems from long-standing pressures—tales of discouragement from his father and others about chasing dreams. Mithra conveys this perspective back to Pavithra, who understands the pain behind his silence and encourages him to follow his passion, reframing the conflict as a doorway to renewal rather than a failure.

The second couple, Arjun and Divya, also navigate rough waters. Divya demonstrates striking intellectual ability across a range of subjects, which sparks insecurity in Arjun about his own masculine identity. He lashes out by correcting her for even minor errors, creating friction between them. When he finally admits his fault and asks for a second chance, they begin to patch things up, recognizing the need for more balanced dialogue and trust.

Amid these personal journeys, Mithra grows more self-aware and honest with her spouse, Manohar. Mano recognizes that Mithra has made decisions and masked her true feelings—even moments of rage—to keep him content, and he confronts her about this behavior. The couple finds themselves on shaky ground for a time as they navigate the uneasy boundary between professional empathy and intimate honesty. Mithra attempts to reconcile using her counseling toolkit, insisting that solutions should flow from genuine feeling rather than treating him as a client. The tension peaks when Mano discovers a bag of notes Mithra had written—her private expressions of longing and fear—that reveal her feelings are authentic and that she simply struggled to express them. This realization helps them understand each other more clearly, and they choose to move forward together, renewed by a deeper, more honest connection.
