Spoilers ahead
Set in California during the 1980s, the short follows the inner workings of Paul, a man whose day kicks off with a peculiar parade: his Brain, Heart, Lungs, Stomach, Bladder, and Kidneys all wake up and head to work on a shared mission. On this typical morning, Heart dreams of a big breakfast, a bit of beach-time mischief, and a chance to try a new pair of sunglasses at a sun-drenched vendor stall. Meanwhile, Brain wants Paul to move with clockwork precision, steering him toward the day’s routine and away from any hazard that might derail the commute. The clash between Heart’s playful impulse and Brain’s cautious eyelids creates the first spark of the film’s gentle, witty tension.
