Carson Morris, played by Lara Vosburgh, was once an exemplary student, but her life took a dark turn as she spiraled into addiction. After enrolling in a prestigious Catholic high school, Carson found solace in drugs, leading her to reluctantly agree to have a documentary crew film her struggles during rehab. Upon her arrival at the clinic, Carson quickly becomes an easy target for mockery from the other patients, who ridicule her claims of being demonically possessed. However, not everyone is quick to dismiss her; Jason, a compassionate production assistant portrayed by Morgan McClellan, begins to show understanding toward her unusual experiences. His initial skepticism transforms into belief as they bond over the chilling supernatural occurrences that seem to manifest only in solitude.
