North Korean defector Sun Mu uses a pseudonym meaning “no boundaries” to create political pop art inspired by his life, his homeland, and his hope for a unified Korea. His work, often provocative, reflects his experiences and opinions about North Korea. However, his carefully guarded identity is threatened when a large historical exhibition in Beijing is abruptly closed by Chinese and North Korean authorities, forcing him to confront the risks of his artistic expression.
