In the Old City of Hyderabad, a tense alley scene opens the story with danger, loyalty, and the messy mix of money and desire. Suri, Ajju Tehzab’s right-hand man (a stand-in for quick deals and rough justice), peddles drugs inside Mama’s territory, until a confrontation erupts when Mama himself arrives to lay down a hard message. The moment of chaos lands Suri on the run, and the power balance in the neighborhood tightens with every punch that lands.

Back in Mangalat, Suri spins a more dramatic tale to Ajju Tehzab, exaggerating the beating to paint Mama as a bigger threat. Ajju Tehzab, calmly wading through a game of Carom, vows to take matters into his own hands and “take care of Mama,” a line that hints at the coming trouble and the web of loyalties that will be tested.

The film then shifts to Hanif Bhai, a man whose past is whispered about—rumors say he used to be a chicken thief, a detail that adds a rough humor to his respectable facade. While cutting chicken with a friend, Sajid Bhai, Hanif Bhai probes about his own sons. Sajid Bhai explains that Arif and Anwar are returning after five years of studies in America, and he notes that Hanif Bhai will need to find good matches for them. This setup plants the seed for a family drama about expectations, class, and marriage.

Munna appears next, lingering near a girls’ college and providing some of the film’s earliest comedy. A cheeky prank unfolds: Munna teases a girl, a prank that spirals into a long-running joke. He borrows a classmate’s phone under the ruse of a dead battery, dialling a random number and asking, “Is Farha there,” drawing a torrent of expletives from the other end. The mischief returns when Munna’s classmate answers a call and hears the barrage of swears from the other side, creating a running gag that all the characters eventually react to.

Pappu is introduced as a wily ticket scalper outside a busy theater. He doesn’t just want to offload two tickets; he targets alluring possibilities, hoping to sit beside girls with Munna. He tries to push the tickets at a premium to two men and then to two women, only to turn away the men for being “royal beggars” before a quick reversal with Munna’s arrival. The dynamic between Pappu and the customers underscores his scheming nature and his willingness to push boundaries to gain a favored seat.

Amidst these hustles, Hanif Bhai’s two daughters—Reshma and Najma—enter the frame with the same household tension. Reshma, who is sharp enough to steal money from her father’s pocket, and Najma, absorbed in reading a Filmfare magazine and finishing college reports, live under the pressure of their father’s plans. Hanif Bhai dreams of marrying them off to wealthy NRIs, but both Reshma and Najma have their own hearts set elsewhere: Reshma toward Munna and Najma toward Pappu. This clash between parental expectation and filial longing threads through the narrative, hinting at the compromises and choices that will follow.

The budding romances begin to take shape: Munna loves Reshma, while Pappu loves Najma, though neither is sure of the other’s feelings. Pappu musters up the courage to declare his affection to Najma in front of the same college, and the two exchange a glimpse of mutual feeling. Najma’s smile is tempered by the family’s constraints, and the scene tightens the tension between love, money, and the search for a future that aligns with both heart and home.

In a moment that preserves the film’s playful yet pointed tone, Najma accepts a rose from Pappu, a small gesture that signals trust and potential romance amid the chaos of family expectations and neighborhood politics. The chemistry between the two, rooted in a combination of charm and risk, invites the audience to watch how love might navigate a landscape shaped by ambition, pride, and tradition.

Key characters and their threads weave a tapestry of humor, danger, and possibility. Arif and Anwar, sons coming home from America, carry the weight of family hopes and the lure of new opportunities. Mama remains a looming authority whose presence unsettles rivals and allies alike, while Munna and Pappu anchor the story with their bold, reckless schemes and their evolving feelings for Reshma and Najma. The film blends comedy with street-smart realism, painting a portrait of a city where alliances shift as quickly as the whims of those who crave love, money, and a place in a changing world.
