The Stooges — Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Shemp Howard — are hired by Mr. Baines to train the indigenous population of the fictional Pacific island of Rarabonga to dance, a key part of B.O. Pictures’ upcoming musical. Their assignment comes at the request of the studio president, who has secured the island for a grand production and hopes these choreographers can modernize the islanders’ performances for the film.

Upon arrival, they quickly learn the situation is far more dangerous than a simple dance lesson. The islanders are cannibalistic headhunters under the sway of the malevolent Varanu, a witch doctor who has no idea how to dance and, more pressingly, intends to use the production as a cover for his own violent schemes. The trio’s comic misfires mix with real peril as they navigate a culture that clashes sharply with their slapstick approach.

Seeking a way out of danger, the Stooges ally with Luana, the daughter of the tribal king. She pleads for their help to rescue her boyfriend from the clutches of [Varanu], hoping the outsiders’ skills can turn the tide against the witch doctor’s grip on the island. Together, they pursue a plan that blends wit, teamwork, and a stubborn refusal to give up.

The adventure leads them to a formidable obstacle: a totem idol known as the Four-armed Idol guarding a cache of World War II grenades. The ominous statue, brought to life in the imagination of the island’s myths, becomes a pivotal moment in the plot, as the group realizes the danger—and the potential tool—in the grenades’ presence. Lei Aloha portrays the Four-armed Idol, adding a layer of mystique to the perilous guardianship.

In a tense and humorous sequence, the Stooges manage to outwit [Varanu] by duping him into demonstrating his swordsmanship on the grenades. The improvised gust of fate leads to a dramatic detonation that ends Varanu’s reign and removes the immediate threat to Luana and her boyfriend. The moment culminates in a blend of suspense and the kind of clever trickery the trio is known for, leaving the island perched on the edge of safety.

With Varanu defeated, the Stooges return to their original mission. They apply their dance expertise to teach the islanders actual choreography, guiding them toward a new rhythm and helping to fulfill B.O. Pictures’ cinematic dream. What began as a perilous assignment becomes a showcase of movement, culture, and resilience, framed by the trio’s enduring camaraderie and comic timing.
