
Later, a woman recalls the 1941 Japanese invasion of Hong Kong. She is Nam, daughter of a merchant who suffers seizures. Her friend Coolie Keung, once rich now poor, is a tough leader who loves her. Fay, an actor seeking life abroad, joins them. The invasion stops their escape; Fay saves Keung, Nam falls for Fay, and danger follows their bid to flee.
