The film opens with Teeradon Supapunpinyo portraying a spirit who wakes up in a hospital morgue, confused and desperate to escape. He learns from a group calling themselves the Guardian that he has been given a second chance at life inside Min, a teenager who recently took his own life, with a strict rule: he must uncover the truth behind Min’s death within 100 days or face permanent oblivion. This unusual premise sets the stage for a thoughtful exploration of memory, responsibility, and the fragile ties that bind a family. Reluctantly, the spirit inhabits Min and returns home, where Min’s mother, Suquan Bulakul, greets him with a mix of duty and distance.
At home, he encounters Menn, Nathasit Kotimanuswanich, Min’s brother who dislikes his presence, and their father, Roj Kwantham, who has left academia to pursue a multi-level marketing career. The household atmosphere is strained: the mother, an engineer, eventually returns to work in a distant province, leaving Min to navigate school life largely on his own. At school, Min discovers that he has few friends; Li, his closest classmate, is the one ally who sticks by him, and he develops a crush on Pi, Cherprang Areekul, his elder tutoring peer who excels academically. The dual reality of Min’s social world and the strange, otherworldly presence within him creates a quiet tension that permeates daily life.
As the spirit settles into Min’s life, he begins to piece together Min’s past and faces a web of hidden tensions. He learns that his brother resents Min for being seen as the problem child, that his father’s risky financial moves left the family teetering on the edge, and that his mother’s romantic life has become complicated. A troubling truth emerges about Pi: she was entangled with a teacher who exploited her for academic opportunities, a revelation that casts new light on Min’s own loneliness. The spirit confronts the Guardian with a stark realization: Min’s distress and eventual death were the results of a constellation of hurtful choices by those around him. Yet the Guardian does not concede to his conclusion, and this disagreement seals the fate of the spirit’s one hopeful chance.
In the days that follow, the spirit grows more empathetic and begins to see the love and support that surround Min, even as he wrestles with unresolved family conflicts and the weight of past mistakes. He resolves to address these issues, trying to mend fences with Menn, repair the strained relationship with his father, and acknowledge his mother’s difficult situation. A turning point comes when he and Li attend rehearsals for the school’s card stunt, Li having submitted one of Min’s old designs, a moment that rekindles a thread of Min’s own creative spirit. As the card stunt unfolds, Min experiences a flood of memories: a realization that he was the Min who drew that design long before this second chance—and the memories of a life he once lived begin to return with full clarity. The Guardians appear one last time, and Min acknowledges that his death was the consequence of his own reluctance to recognize the positive possibilities in life.
What unfolds is not just a supernatural odds-and-ends tale, but a careful, human-centered portrait of a boy and the people around him who shaped his path. The Guardian’s final revelation reframes the test: it was a trick designed to wake him to life’s possible joys and to help him begin anew. With that truth, Min is invited to embrace a second opportunity, now armed with a deeper understanding of his family, his friendships, and the true value of choosing life.
