Here’s to the Future! 2014

In 2011, a female director and her team of collaborators gather to recreate a scene from the classic film, The Cabin in the Cotton. During a late-summer Sunday, they film in an apartment, enjoying pasta and wine as non-professional actors repeatedly perform the scene in various ways. Inspired by the creative freedom of pre-Code Hollywood, the process is documented with multiple cameras, capturing both the actors and the behind-the-scenes interactions, from rehearsals to playful banter. This intimate portrait explores the collaborative nature of filmmaking and the challenge of preserving fleeting moments.
