Writer‑director Gu Su‑yeon bases the film on his semi‑autobiographical youth as a delinquent Zainichi Korean in the gritty seaside town of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi. Juggling a string of dead‑end part‑time jobs, he roams the city on a scooter, provoking local hoodlums, leaping across rooftops, chasing a sailor‑suit girl, and intervening in a violent glue‑sniffing orgy to save a schoolgirl.
