Grrr.. Reviews & Ratings
IMDb users rate Grrr.. 4.2/10. Our Echo Score gives it 20/100, strongest in character & emotion (30) and weakest in rewatch factor (15).
Grrr.. Echo Score Breakdown
The film fails to deliver on nearly every front, resulting in a largely unsatisfying experience. Direction is unfocused and production design appears cheap, while performances feel artificial and lack depth. The plot is shallow, pacing sluggish, and jokes fall flat. Even the soundtrack and visual effects add little value, leaving little reason to revisit the film. Overall, the movie offers only a fleeting moment of forced laughter, which does not compensate for its numerous shortcomings.
Our own 0–100 rating, built from five aspects: art, character, story, the sensory experience and how well a film rewatches.
- Art & Craft 20
In terms of art and craft, the direction appears unfocused and the screenplay lacks cohesion. Cinematography is unremarkable, and production design, including the zoo set, looks cheaply constructed with cardboard-like facades. Editing does not provide rhythm, contributing to a visually flat and technically weak presentation.
- Character & Emotion 30
When evaluating character and emotion, performances feel largely artificial; lead Kunchacko Boban is described as miscast while Suraj Venjaramoodu offers a marginally more convincing portrayal. Overall, the cast fails to convey depth or chemistry, resulting in one‑dimensional characters that do not engage the audience emotionally.
- Story & Flow 15
The story is presented as a thin premise of a drunk man trapped with a lion, but it lacks depth and coherent progression. Screenplay weaknesses include long, unnecessary scenes and weak dialogue, leading to sluggish pacing. The plot fails to build tension or deliver satisfying comedic or narrative arcs.
- Sensory Experience 20
The sensory experience is hampered by subpar music and sound design; reviewers label the songs as the worst and the soundtrack placement as boring. Visual effects for the lion and zoo scenes appear inadequate, with artificial textures that undermine immersion. Overall, the audio‑visual components contribute little to engagement.
- Rewatch Factor 15
In terms of rewatch factor, the film offers limited replay value; its humor falls flat and the narrative does not reward repeated viewings. Reviewers note it as a one‑time OTT watch, suggesting little lasting appeal. Consequently, audiences are unlikely to seek a second viewing.
