What Is Grey Matter About?
The premise of Grey Matter without spoilers.
Balthazar, a young African filmmaker, prepares his debut, The Cycle of the Cockroach, about a woman who survives horrific atrocities and shares a mental asylum with a war‑madman. Funders deem the story too bleak and push for a ‘message’ film on gender‑based violence or HIV/AIDS. He refuses, rehearses without money or gear, and as rehearsals blur into reality the script’s images materialize, questioning if the film exists only in his mind.
