At a quiet funeral parlour, Little Lim Chin-Jung Kang discovers a mysterious, wordless book that houses a living presence—the Book Spirit Mark Lee. The spirit offers Lim luck in the form of winning lottery numbers and practical financial advice. The initial wins are modest, but Lim’s eagerness to share the winnings drags him into a cycle with his two friends, Ah Nam Brenden Yuan and Lao Hui Henry Thia, who earn their living by digging bones from old graves. The spirit cautions him to think before acting, hinting at the consequences that accompany great wealth.

Driven by the dream of more, Lim agrees to pay a price for bigger riches, though the exact cost remains unclear. As his life grows more lavish, he becomes deeply dependent on the Book Spirit, seeking its guidance for nearly every decision. Eventually, the spirit reveals the price: Lim’s life. The richer he gets, the closer he edges toward danger, and the only way to free the spirit is through Lim’s own demise.

Meanwhile, Nam’s gambling urges push him to steal valuables from a coffin, a choice Hui tries to deter. After these acts, strange and unsettling incidents begin to unfold. A vengeful spirit starts to haunt Nam and Hui, turning their fortune-fueled ascent into a haunting struggle for safety and sanity. The film threads luck, greed, and mortality into a tense narrative where every gain echoes a cost, and the deeper Lim dives into wealth, the more the story tests the limits of fate and desire.
