The village of Uljinri has long endured a malign presence that casts a quiet, ominous shadow over daily life. Decades of trouble culminate in a wave of mysterious accidents and unexplained events that baffle the local authorities. In response, shamans from across the country gather to perform a grand ritual meant to confront the unseen force tormenting the area. Chan-young, a young newspaper reporter, Kang Ye-won is dispatched to cover the story and bear witness to a community on edge.

As the rite unfolds, a strange, eerie energy sweeps the village, and a relentless stream of spirit attacks tests the participants to their limits. Most shamans flee in fear, leaving only six to stand their ground. The five who endure are Teacher Park, the country’s most famous exorcist whose name draws crowds and fees from all corners of the nation; Kim Soo-ro as Teacher Park. Monk Shim-in, Kwak Do-won, who trained under the same master and now travels around Tabgol Park reading fortunes for couples; Suk-hyun, Lee Je-hoon, a doctoral engineer who designs a range of demon-chasing gear; a boy named Wol-kwang, Yang Kyung-mo, with the unsettling ability to glimpse near-future events; and Seung-hee, Kim Yoon-hye, a tarot expert who can read memories stored in objects. Together with Chan-young, these six begin a tense, perilous investigation into the village’s hidden past while preparing for a final, high-stakes confrontation with the encroaching evil.

The group’s quest presses them to unravel layers of local hauntings, ancient practices, and modern ingenuity, all while navigating the fragile alliances between faith, science, and fate. As revelations emerge, each member must confront personal fears and the limits of their craft, balancing skepticism with belief in a power that refuses to be contained. The film weaves together ritual tradition, supernatural menace, and investigative courage, offering a steady, immersive descent into a community on the brink and a climactic showdown that tests the resolve of everyone involved.
