Benz, along with his son Cool and nephew Ngau-Ngau, form an unconventional team of vigilantes who operate under the cover of night to combat gangsters. Their daring deeds involve robbing criminal organizations and then generously sharing their stolen gains with those in need, embodying a form of vigilante justice driven by compassion. Despite their noble efforts, Benz’s wife remains unaware of their clandestine activities as she battles cancer, adding a layer of personal sacrifice and emotional complexity to their lives.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Benz’s stepson Lionel, a dedicated police officer, is working undercover as an employee of a multinational corporation named DOA. This company serves as a front for a formidable criminal syndicate led by the ruthless Mr. Ko. Lionel’s covert operation involves a high-tech contact lens equipped with a hidden camera, allowing him to monitor the syndicate’s activities from within and gather crucial intelligence needed to bring down the criminal empire.
The plot thickens as Benz reconnects with his old friend Ken, popularly known as the “Magic Hand,” whose reputation as a cunning and highly skilled gambler precedes him. Meanwhile, Ngau-Ngau develops romantic feelings for Ken’s daughter, Rainbow, but her affections seem more aligned with Cool, who is reluctant to pursue her despite Ngau-Ngau’s persistent efforts. Ken, sensing the dangers surrounding Lionel’s secret, becomes suspicious that his friend’s covert identity might be compromised.
As the story unfolds, Lionel faces the consequences of his risky undercover work. He secretly hides the contact lens in a stuffed teddy bear at home to protect it from being discovered, but Ngau-Ngau unwittingly passes the bear to Rainbow during a visit, inadvertently risking the entire operation. Meanwhile, Mr. Ko sends an assassin to Lionel’s apartment, only to find Benz instead, leading to Benz being brutally beaten and left in a coma. Lionel’s body is later discovered bearing signs of torture, emphasizing the perilous nature of their underground war.
The police from China, Hong Kong, and Macau team up with Ken to confront Mr. Ko, whose organization’s malevolence has spread far and wide. Ken challenges Mr. Ko to a high-stakes gambling match in hopes of provoking him into making a mistake that could expose his criminal operations. This gamble becomes even more intense when Mr. Ko’s assassins launch an attack on Ken’s house, where Rainbow, Cool, and Ngau-Ngau are hiding. During this chaos, Rainbow is placed inside a glass tank filled with gas, a desperate measure to save her.
Ken reveals his own ultratechnological advantage—he has implanted a card sensor in his fingernail that feeds specific card data directly into his brain, giving him an edge in the game against Mr. Ko. The enemies who follow Mr. Ko, having witnessed a victory by Lionel Messi of Barcelona against Real Madrid, start a revolution against the syndicate, further destabilizing Mr. Ko’s empire. After eliminating the rival factions, Ken confronts Mr. Ko directly, shooting cards at him as a symbol of his deadly precision. In a final act of justice, Ken mercilessly shoots Mr. Ko multiple times until he is subdued and arrested by the police.
As the story culminates on the first day of the Lunar New Year, Ken performs traditional disciple rituals with Cool. During this ceremony, Cool receives a mysterious call from someone claiming to be interested in taking him as a disciple. The scene shifts as a tall man dressed in a black suit, fingered with a jade ring, enters and states, >“I believe I am qualified to take him as my disciple.”> The man turns out to be none other than the legendary Ko Chun, known from the famous God of Gamblers series, hinting at future adventures and challenges that await Cool and the others.
