In 1978, Gigi Marie-Anne Chazel, Jérôme Tarayre Christian Clavier, Christiane Dominique Lavanant, Jean-Claude Dusse Michel Blanc, and Bernard Morin Gérard Jugnot arrive at the Club Med in Assinie, Côte d’Ivoire, a sun-soaked retreat where guests participate in a curated roster of activities led by the gentle organizers, the G.O.s, for the cheerful, paying crowd—the gentil membres. Beads worn around the neck serve as the playful currency that unlocks the day’s adventures, games, and shared leisure, creating a communal atmosphere that blends flirtation, humor, and a touch of fantasy.

Bernard is reunited with his wife Nathalie Morin Josiane Balasko, who has already been at the village for a week, and they’re welcomed by Popeye Thierry Lhermitte, the sports chief, along with the animated Bobo and Bourseault. The group quickly forms bonds as everyone aims to meet new people and feel the excitement of vacation romance. As the days unfold, Bernard and Nathalie decide to explore extramarital affairs, while Jérôme, a doctor, and Jean-Claude attempt to flirt with others—though their efforts mostly miss the mark.
