Terry McQuinn, a successful California attorney, looks back on his childhood in the quiet towns of Maine and discovers how the past still weaves through his present. As an adult, he has built a life far from the little world of his youth, but when his father dies he returns to the coastal state to confront unfinished business and to settle the small estate left behind. The seemingly straightforward task of winding down family affairs becomes a journey through memory, where the borders between then and now blur and the weight of old choices presses on Terry.
