Aisha Verma, Shraddha Kapoor, tries to leave a final message for her husband, Guru Divaker, but a masked intruder enters their home and kills her by defenestration. At her funeral, CBI officer Aditya Rathore, Shaad Randhawa, stresses that catching the killer is essential to stop Guru Divaker from slipping into a fresh cycle of violence.
Past: Guru was a ruthless hitman who worked for mob boss Caesar, who trained him to hunt down the goons responsible for his parents’ deaths. When Guru is arrested for killing Debu, Debu’s mother warns him that one day God will make him pay for his crimes by taking away his loved ones. Guru falls in love with Aisha, an optimistic woman facing a terminal illness, and they marry. He leaves his old life behind and finds a new job while Aisha undergoes treatment in Mumbai and slowly improves. She discovers she is pregnant and plans to tell Guru in person when he returns from an interview, but she is murdered before she can.
Present: Rakesh Mahadkar is an unsuccessful man who endures constant humiliation from his wife, Sulochana “Sulu” Mahadkar, even though his love for her remains. He channels his frustration into violence, killing women who speak rudely to him, and Aisha becomes one of his victims. Guru hunts down Rakesh and delivers a brutal beating, then admits him to a hospital and pays the medical bills, intending to punish him by repeatedly bringing him to the brink of death and saving him again and again. At the hospital, Guru learns that Aisha was pregnant, and the news devastates him. While he confronts a nurse during the encounter with Rakesh, the latter realizes that Guru is Aisha’s husband and is seeking vengeance. On the suggestion of his friend Brijesh, Rakesh taunts Guru over the phone and then kills Aisha’s father.
Rakesh expects Guru to kill him so he can die as a hero in Sulochana’s eyes, while Guru would be discredited. But Caesar calls Guru and reveals that he has killed Sulochana to avenge Aisha, and he has left Rakesh’s young son Manish for Guru to kill. Enraged, Rakesh stabs Guru with a screwdriver and then attempts to crush him with a boulder, only to be hit by a car and killed. In the end, Guru adopts Manish and completes the wishes on Aisha’s bucket list, bringing the journey full circle and offering a quiet, somber closure to a life built on violence and lost love.
