Eaten Alive! 1980

Set against the dense jungles of New Guinea, Sheila Morris, Janet Ågren, sets out to locate her missing sister Diana Morris, Paola Senatore. Diana has vanished while exploring with a group, and the search pulls them into terrain that tests every nerve. They team up with the rugged adventurer Mark Butler, Mel Ferrer, and as the trio presses on, the truth about Diana’s disappearance comes into sharper relief: she has fallen under the sway of a dangerous cult led by a brutal figure named Jonas, Ivan Rassimov. The cult wields power through coercion and violence, and its influence spills over from the secluded compound into the surrounding villages, corrupting trusts and feeding fear.

As the danger grows, a native widow named Mowara, Me Me Lai, joins the effort, offering knowledge of the terrain and a heavy burden of past trauma. With four people moved by fear and determination—Sheila, Mark, Diana, and Mowara—the journey becomes a razor-thin struggle for survival through a landscape where every sound could signal a new threat. The cult’s grip loosens only as a brutal incident unleashes its most extreme consequences: the four escape deeper into the jungle, but Diana and Mowara are captured by cannibal clans. Diana, [Paola Senatore], endures a horrifying act of violence before she is killed, and Mowara meets a similar fate, while Mark and Sheila, hiding in the undergrowth, are forced to watch.

The chase ends abruptly as helicopters circle overhead and the two survivors race toward safety, making it back to New York with the memory of the horror they’ve witnessed. In the village, the rest of the cult turns to ritual suicide, leaving a single young survivor for authorities to locate and question. The film closes on the uneasy note of consequences—psychological aftershocks that linger long after survival, and a stark reminder of how power can corrupt faith, community, and the bonds that hold people together in the face of unimaginable cruelty.
