In 1996, a brutal military program selects orphaned infants soon after birth and trains them to become ruthlessly efficient soldiers. Those deemed physically or mentally unworthy are executed, and the survivors are molded into ultimate fighting machines who grow up with little understanding of the outside world. The story follows one of these hardened soldiers, a veteran named Sgt. Todd 3465, played by Bobby Deol, as he remains among the few who endure the program’s harsh discipline and relentless training.
Fast forward to 2036, where the military project advances to a new generation of genetically engineered soldiers, engineered for peak physique and a complete absence of emotion apart from aggression. Colonel Mekum, the project’s leader, introduces this new batch to Captain Church, the commander of Todd’s unit, and challenges him to test their capabilities against the veterans. Among the newcomers is Caine 607, who quickly defeats several of the original soldiers; however, Todd fights back, gouging out Caine’s eye before he plunges from a great height. The body of a dead comrade cushions his fall and he slips into unconsciousness. Mekum orders the fallen to be disposed of, and the older soldiers are demoted to menial roles as the younger generation steps in.
Todd finds himself stranded on Arcadia 234, a desolate waste disposal planet where a long-ago crash-landing colony has been quietly left behind. He is taken in by Mace and his wife Sandra, who hope to welcome him into their peaceful, conflict-free community. Yet Todd’s extreme conditioning makes adaptation difficult, and his memories of past battles bleed into the present, causing him to mistake a member of the colony for an enemy. His struggle intensifies when he forms a fragile bond with Nathan, the couple’s mute son who was traumatized by a snakebite as an infant. Todd’s flashbacks threaten to erupt into violence, and in one tense moment he forces Nathan to confront a snake, pressing him to strike back in self-defense. The parents worry about this harsh lesson and question how to relate to him.
Fear and suspicion soon fracture the colony’s harmony, and the settlers expel Todd from the community. He experiences emotion for the first time—loss and a deep-seated sadness that brings tears to his eyes. Not long after, Nathan uses Todd’s own technique to save Mace and Sandra when a dangerous encounter with a snake puts them at risk. The family begins to see the potential value in Todd’s lesson, but others in the colony remain uncertain about reintegrating him.
Meanwhile, the new genetically engineered soldiers arrive on Arcadia with the goal of using the colonists’ community as a training ground. Mekum orders the colonists’ settlement to be targeted, and the soldiers quickly locate Mace, killing him shortly after Todd is found. Todd’s vast experience and intimate knowledge of the planet allow him to mount a counterattack and reclaim the colony, even as the odds are stacked against him. He outmaneuvers the intruders and defeats the advancing squad, including Caine 607, in brutal hand-to-hand combat.
In a final move, Mekum orders the transport ship’s crew—the former Todd squad—to deploy a portable doomsday device capable of destroying the planet. When Captain Church objects, Mekum shoots him dead. Todd and his former teammates rally to his side, seizing control of the ship and leaving Mekum and his aides behind on the planet. The colonists are evacuated, but Mekum’s plan cannot be stopped until the device is accidentally triggered, killing Mekum and his followers. Todd then pilots the ship away from the planet, heading toward the Trinity Moons with Nathan in tow, ready to begin a new chapter together as they look out at the vast galaxy ahead.
