Dan, Kenjiro Yamashita as Dan, Tettsu, and Chiharu—collectively known as DTC—are worn out from days of chasing headlines and exposing cover-ups. They ride their motorcycles with no fixed destination, chasing a pulse of youth and the possibility of something that feels like true connection.
Their restless journey leads them to Kamishimo, an Onsen town tucked in the mountains. They discover they have run out of gas and money, forcing them to seek work. They find live-in jobs at the Morita inn, Moritaya, run by Yûko Fueki as Mari Morita, who lives there with her daughter Megumi Morita, played by Miu Arai.
Chiharu Taiki Sato as Chiharu falls for Mari, a woman who has lost her husband and is running the inn while raising her daughter. However, he quickly learns that Mari and the inn’s manager, Miyazaki, Taro Suruga as Miyazaki, are attracted to each other.
To help them find a future together, DTC cooks up a big plan to encourage Mari and Miyazaki to marry. With the support of their old friends—the Ryukibue brothers (Kabuto Ijuin and Ozawa)—the SMG of White Rascals, and the Daruma Babies of Daruma Ikka, they set out on a mission to safeguard Mari and the others’ futures.
But the plan hits snags, and they stand on the brink of failure as unexpected twists test their resolve and solidarity. The trio’s determination is tested, yet they press on, driven by the belief that their actions could unlock happiness for Mari and Megumi.
At last, the scheme succeeds: Megumi accepts Miyazaki’s proposal of being his daughter, and Mari and Miyazaki can finally marry. The trio takes their wages from the part-time work and carries on their journey, empowered by what they have learned and the new bonds they have formed.
Across humor and warmth, the film celebrates youth, friendship, and the belief that a future—built on care, loyalty, and bold acts for others—can be found on the road ahead.
