Taapsee Pannu(/actor/taapsee-pannu)‘s Koroli Nair, the only child of a London-based business tycoon, relocates to Delhi in search of her “pursuit of happiness”. Rather than chasing entrepreneurship, Koroli yearns for a life partner and someday becoming a loving mother to her future children. In time, she discovers a sense of fulfillment by teaching English at the British Council in New Delhi, where a different kind of purpose begins to unfold in her life.

Sumit Uppal, a typical Lajpat Nagar ‘launda’ played by Saqib Saleem, arrives with big dreams of Bollywood stardom. He works as the star trainer at a local gym, has invested in his appearance, and nurtures ambitious fantasies of walking the red carpet and rubbing shoulders with some of Bollywood’s finest actors and actresses. His drive and charm set him apart, even as he carries the hustle and hustle-forward energy of a man chasing fame.

Sumit joins Koroli’s English class at the British Council, where their paths cross in a setting that blends learning with possibility. Initially they interact as teacher and student, but the dynamic shifts after a chance encounter in a nightclub, where their proximity intensifies and an unexpected attraction begins to form.
