Dieter Dieter Bohlen was born on an East Frisian farm, and from an early age he develops a weakness for beautiful women and music. His father teaches him to always “put some money aside,” because you never know what one might need it for someday.
As a teenager, Dieter plays in several bands, and that visibility makes him popular with the girls. When he grows up, he starts working as a producer for a record company. His colleague Andy shares the hard-nosed rule for success: Haste Geld, haste Autos, haste Frauen.
Haste Geld, haste Autos, haste Frauen
Dieter spends years producing various artists without much real breakthrough. Then he meets singer Thomas and together they form the band Modern Talking, which soon achieves worldwide fame. But the growing interference of Thomas’s wife Nora destabilizes the group, and Modern Talking eventually splits apart.
Dieter later meets Naddel, whom he falls for largely because of her big but fake breasts, and the two move into a lavish house together. Yet fate brings Verona into his life, and he falls in love again. He breaks up with Naddel and marries Verona, but she seems to care more about his money than about him. She divorces him and receives an enormous payout of 300 trillion Deutsche Mark.
Just as Dieter spirals into despair, Modern Talking makes a spectacular comeback, and their success dwarfs even the first wave of triumphs. But his hunger for control and wealth pushes him toward a far darker destination: hell. There, the Teufel Harry Wijnvoord offers three eternal options—spend eternity with Wolfgang Petry, serve as Thomas Anders’s guitarist, or remain in his own studio. Relieved to have a path that centers on music, he chooses the studio, only to discover that Verona is waiting for him there once more.
