The premise of Death Comes at High Noon without spoilers.
On a dark evening crime writer Peter Sander’s car stalls in a forest. Spotting a house with lit windows, he hurriedly walks to ask for a phone. He trips over a tree root, sprains his foot and limps along the road. A sudden flash of light pierces the darkness, then fades as the source retreats. Peter forces himself up, staggers to the door and knocks, but receives no answer.
