The premise of Dancehall Queen without spoilers.
Marcia, a Kingston ghetto vendor, struggles to support her family. Her daughter is pursued by a rich patron who funds them, and her brother is threatened by a local thug. When the patron threatens to leave and her brother breaks, Marcia hits bottom. She escapes to the dance hall, donning glamorous outfits and finding solace in its thumping beats.
