In Leningrad, a string of crimes tied to fraud and theft unsettles the city, as men who meet a woman in a restaurant wake up penniless and bewildered, with no memory of how they got there. Sergei Ryabinin, an investigator, and Vadim Petelnikov, a police captain, join forces to chase the elusive con artists behind the pattern.
