Jersey, a popular gambler in Mongkok, travels to Japan with Nancy. A Japanese triad attacks the restaurant, but the owner uses a special card trick to save him and reveals himself as Cool, the Gambling King. Cool says his former lover Ho Yan is now married to jealous ally Yeung. With Jersey, Cool aims to win Ho Yan back, unaware of Yeung’s trap.

In Asia, only Japan’s formidable Tetsuo (Yasuaki Kurata) is seen as a true rival. Driven by a desire to be Asia’s number one, Cool trains hard to sharpen his skills, convinced that he can finally beat Tetsuo.
