The film follows Harish, Gokul Anand, a struggling Indian filmmaker who travels to Singapore in search of investors to fund his dream project. A string of misfortunes sabotages his plans, and he even loses his passport, leaving him stranded and frustrated. In a moment of desperation, Harish encounters Vaanampadi, Rajesh Balachandiran, an eccentric Singaporean cameraman who sees something worth salvaging in the young filmmaker.
With Vaanampadi’s guidance, they soon cross paths with a sharp-eyed producer, Michael, Shiv Keshav. Michael advises Harish to pivot toward a romantic film rather than a sentimental one, a suggestion that stings because Harish has nothing ready to present. The setback weighs heavily on him, yet the encounter plants a new, if fragile, spark of possibility. Then a serendipitous meeting changes everything: Roshini, Anju Kurian, a young woman bravely facing cancer, becomes the heart of Harish’s new inspiration. As Harish immerses himself in her story, he finds himself pulled into a series of moments that are funny, painful, and deeply human. He begins to script these events, trying to capture not just life as it is, but life as it could be, and in the process he learns to help Roshini hold on to hope.
Roshini’s father, L. Raja, speaks candidly with Harish about the illness and the harsh reality that treatment costs can be astronomically high. He lays out the grim choice facing them and reveals a desperate wish: to secure a cure for his daughter, no matter the price. Touched and troubled, Harish and Vaanampadi hatch a risky plan, leveraging Michael and his mistress to raise the funds they need. The plan triggers a chain of complications and ethical ambiguities, testing loyalties and pushing Harish to confront what he’s willing to do for love.
In a chaotic turn of events, Papablast, Emcee Jesz, a notorious comedy don, is assigned to kidnap Roshini and the two friends. Papablast succeeds in abducting the trio, but his own schemes ensnare him, and he falls into a trap of his own making, allowing Harish, Roshini, and Vaanampadi to escape with the plan still in motion. The money they’ve secured becomes a lifeline, and Harish uses it to save Roshini, who gradually responds to the treatment and begins to recover, her spirit buoyed by Harish’s steadfast belief in her.
Months later, in the present, a revealing truth comes to light: Harish has been praying to Papablast and, in a meta twist, has used the experiences of this perilous journey to craft a film about his own story. The act of turning pain into art completes a loop, blurring the lines between reality and cinema. The film closes with the three of them sharing a quiet ride away, a car carrying them forward as they navigate a future that feels both earned and uncertain.
