What Is Cal About?

Twenty-year-old Cal returns from France to Britain with troubling news about his mother’s illness. He finds his hometown of Bristol struggling with economic hardship, marked by poverty, crime, and nightly riots. His homecoming is far from welcoming, as his mother rejects him due to his sexuality, and his aunt battles her own struggles. While navigating this difficult environment, he encounters a student in need of help, which unexpectedly leads him into conflict with a dangerous drug dealer.
