In the midst of Suze’s efforts, a chaotic incident interrupts an otherwise routine meeting at the office: Jean-Baptiste “JB” Cuchas, the head of IT for internal affairs, experiences a crisis after being dismissed in favor of a younger colleague. Together, the trio uncovers a lead and makes their way toward an address, but the moment is short-lived: police close in, JB is arrested, and Suze and Serge slip away.

The journey to the truth advances through the archives, where Serge guides Suze to the address they uncover. There, Suze glimpses a young man who could be her son and is overwhelmed by emotion. In the midst of this charged moment, a delivery driver collides with Suze’s car, and Serge, fearing arrest, uses the vehicle to escape, careening through a string of collisions that ultimately brings him into contact with the police transport carrying JB. The chaos shakes loose a crucial thread: Suze returns JB’s computer, including the suicide note, but JB’s instincts for justice—blended with his technical skill—drive him toward a more complex truth. He locates Dr. Lint, the obstetrician who delivered Suze’s baby, using the information he retrieves as a key to unlock the next stage of the mystery.

The trail leads to Dr. Lint, now advanced in years and haunted by memory loss. Although the details of his diary are hard to read, his wife provides a vital clue: the diary reveals that Suze’s son was spared the clutches of child services and instead was adopted by another infertile patient of Dr. Lint. That patient is identified by a nickname in the diary, and a moment of clarity returns to Dr. Lint as he briefly remembers the name. The puzzle pieces begin to align, and JB realizes that Adrien—the man Suze has been seeking—has forged a successful career and is involved with a colleague named Clara.

The pursuit then shifts to Adrien’s workplace, where JB hacks into the office to orchestrate a tense confrontation. He engineers a situation in which Adrien and Clara become trapped in an elevator, broadcasting Suze’s voice over the intercom to push Adrien to reveal his feelings to Clara. The scene is taut with suspense as law enforcement closes in, but Serge’s quick thinking distracts the police long enough for Suze and JB to slip away again. Serge is arrested in the process, and the chase between the pursuers and the pursued continues to another quiet, ominous location: an empty car park.

In the final confrontation, armed officers corner JB and Suze. Suze takes JB’s gun and steps toward the line of sight, while JB himself steps forward to join her, begging, in effect, to “come with her.” Their moment culminates in a kiss, a final, shared whisper, and the fateful line that seals their fate: they utter “bye bye morons,” and Suze raises the weapon toward the police.
