Burn Up 1991

On a routine patrol, Maki, [Yumiko Shibata], a police officer who would rather chase criminals than file reports, teams up with Reimi and Yuka, [Kumiko Nishihara], both eager for more action. Their restlessness takes a sharper turn when they join a high-stakes pursuit after a kidnapped girl, pulling them into the shadowy world of a white-slavery operation run by the politically connected businessman McCoy, [Norio Wakamoto]. What begins as a routine stakeout soon spirals into a life-and-death investigation as the team pushes beyond their usual duties in pursuit of truth and justice.

To catch the kidnappers in the act, the trio scopes out a nightclub, hoping to uncover the network behind the disappearance. During the stakeout, Yuka is kidnapped by McCoy’s men, a brutal turn that forces Maki and Reimi to improvise under extreme pressure as they race against time to locate her and the other captives. Their efforts are met with fierce resistance from Gonnack, who beats and poisons them, forcing them to rely on a hospital antidote to recover before they can press on with the case.

Back at the station, Maki and Kenji, [Hirokazu Hiramatsu], press forward with a plan even as the higher-ups remain cautious. They plead with The Chief, [Shozo Iizuka], for permission to prosecute McCoy and to rescue Yuka, but the response is a firm denial rooted in political inertia and procedural caution. Frustrated by the inaction, Maki and Reimi decide to take matters into their own hands, pulling from the police armory—including a police assault carrier—to raid McCoy’s compound and unleash a level of chaos that the operation has never seen before.

The raid yields a hard-won victory: Yuka and all the enslaved girls are freed, and the team sets their sights on bringing McCoy to justice. Their mission takes a dangerous turn when Sayaka, the girl from the club, pretends to be another slave but then shoots and incapacitates them. The reveal of McCoy himself follows, and he and his more ruthless men torture Maki and Reimi in a bid to break their resolve. The tide turns once more, however, as Kenji, Banba and the rest of the police force arrive to intervene, rescuing the officers and shading the outcome toward a hard-earned, collective victory.
