Frank, a seasoned member of the fictional fraternity Sigma Zeta Chi, oversees a dangerous initiation hazing that tests pledges by making them believe they will rob convenience stores. Adam and Kevin join the pledges on this stunt. Before entering a store, another active brother hands them money and explains the test as a bravery exercise. However, due to confusion about which stores to target, Kevin goes ahead with the plan and is shot in the shoulder. Realizing the mix-up, Frank tries to intervene with Adam’s help, but he is too late. They subdue the store clerk, Mike, a high school friend of Adam, and return to the fraternity house. They clear a party to tend to Kevin’s wounds, but Frank orders Adam and Graham to return to the store, recover the security tape, and check on Mike.
On their return, the security camera does not work, and Mike is reluctant to lie to the police to cover their tracks. Fear drives Adam and Graham to kidnap Mike and bring him back to the house. Frank refuses to take Kevin to the hospital, fearing police involvement, and instead calls Bean’s medical professor for help. Adam tries to force Mike to confess by secretly recording him, but Mike ceases talking once he spots the recorder. Emily appears, angrily threatening to call the police over an unrelated prank; as she leaves, she is involved in a car accident with Bean’s professor, who suffers a concussion and becomes unable to assist Kevin.
With time running out and Kevin bleeding, Frank orders Mike’s torture to compel cooperation. Officer Jennings, a former member, discovers Kevin but chooses to stay quiet. Adam grows more insistent about taking Kevin to the hospital and hints that he could leverage Mike after hearing there is missing money at the store. Adam succeeds in getting Mike to admit theft, but Mike agrees to help only if the money is returned and his name cleared.
After a tense standoff with a nervous clerk, Adam and Frank manage to return the missing money and drop Kevin at the hospital, presenting the incident as a hunting accident. Adam grows disillusioned and decides to leave the fraternity, punching Frank. The other members seize Adam and beat him as Frank asserts that the brotherhood’s loyalty will pull them through trouble. Later, Jackson, another fraternity member, returns with the memory that a pledge had been locked in a trunk during the party. Opening the trunk reveals the pledge dead from alcohol poisoning.
Facing the consequences of their actions, Adam finally calls the police and reveals everything, sparking the arrest of Frank and the remaining members.
