Abbie, the adopted daughter of notorious serial killer Roger Bladecut, finds herself entangled in a dark family business that profits from the horrific acts committed by her father. Operating from a struggling horror-themed video rental store, the Bladecut family sells tapes of Roger’s gruesome murders, which mysteriously appear at their doorstep. The origins of these tapes and the identity of other killers remain shrouded in mystery. One fateful evening, the family receives a new list of targets, prompting Roger to take Abbie along as his assistant for an ill-fated outing that ends in his sudden death from a heart attack.

In a desperate attempt to resurrect her father, Abbie buries him, but soon realizes that Roger cannot escape his grave alone, a poignant reminder that age is catching up with him in the blood-soaked business. To remedy the situation, Roger decides to involve their video store’s only employee, Butch Slater. However, this attempt spirals out of control, and Abbie is compelled to personally eliminate two victims. Taking matters into her own hands, Abbie embraces her near-fateful lineage by stepping into the role of a serial killer, enlisting her friend Glenn as a helper in exchange for his inclusion in the ensuing cinematic chaos as a non-victim. Despite his reservations about a female killer’s effectiveness, Roger rallies behind Abbie’s bold decision.

As her targets all happen to be teenagers, Abbie cunningly enrolls in the local high school to stalk her intended victims. Here, she finds herself drawn to Sam, another name on the hit list, which provokes Roger’s concern. He warns Abbie that forming friendships with these teens will jeopardize her mission, a claim that proves prophetic when Abbie botches a kill, leaving Izzy paralyzed and pleading for mercy. In a bid to support her, Roger resumes the darker art of murder, taking on the teens himself and diminishing Abbie’s autonomy.

The tension escalates as the remaining teens, compelled to evade the threats, retreat to an abandoned summer camp, a site heavy with Roger’s own sordid history. What ensues is a harrowing sequence where Roger systematically eliminates the teens, ultimately leaving only Abbie, Sam, and Patty in the fray. Betrayal strikes as Patty confronts Abbie, driven by suspicion of her involvement. Just when it seems all is lost for Abbie, Sam intervenes, killing Patty in a bid to protect her friend. Yet, the danger is far from over; Roger corners Sam and begins choking her, pushing Abbie to her limits. In a moment of desperate resolve, Abbie kills Roger, calling him ‘dad’—a chilling yet heartfelt acknowledgment of their complex relationship.

In the aftermath of this harrowing night, Abbie makes the decision to close the family video store, despite the arrival of a new shipment featuring their latest gruesome film. That night, as thunder echoes ominously, Abbie senses her father’s return and races to his grave, only to find it empty. The film concludes on a haunting note, revealing that Abbie has chosen to bury Sam in Roger’s grave, hinting at the cycle of violence that may very well continue.
