Blood Debts 1985

During a peaceful picnic, Sarah Collins and her boyfriend are suddenly targeted by a ruthless gang of five young criminals. The assault is brutal: the men rape her and kill her boyfriend, but she fights her way free and races to her parents’ house for safety. In a chilling moment, the assailants shoot Sarah right before her father, a wealthy Vietnam veteran named Mark Collins, who is nearby, is seriously wounded as the attackers make their escape.

Months pass, and Mark—still recovering—tracks down the murderers and eliminates each one in turn. He then takes to the streets at night, patrolling with a cold resolve and a growing hunger for vigilante justice. His crusade unsettles his family, until his wife, Yvette Collins, begs him to abandon the brutality and return to a safer path.

Meanwhile, he has drawn the attention of Bill, an enigmatic businessman who wants to crush the local drug syndicate and has his own eyes on Mark’s rising violence. Their schemes escalate when Bill has Yvette kidnapped and forces Mark to continue his vigilante work.

Mark escapes and launches a one-man assault on Bill’s compound, taking progressively larger weapons from the henchmen he defeats. Bill steps out with a pistol and shoots Mark in the back; as Bill prepares to fire again, Mark reveals a flare gun hidden under his sleeve and fires, triggering a fiery explosion that engulfs Bill. The film ends abruptly with a freeze-frame of the blast and a caption in all-lowercase Swiss-style type—informing the audience that “mark collins, age 45, gave himself up to the authorities after the incident. he is now serving a life sentence.”
