During a seemingly ordinary picnic, the calm is shattered when a gang of five young criminals ambushes a couple. They brutally gang-rape Sarah Collins and murder her boyfriend, leaving her to flee for safety. She escapes and races to the sanctuary of her parents’ home, but the nightmare doesn’t end there. In a chilling moment of violence, the attackers shoot Sarah Collins right in front of her father, a wealthy Vietnam veteran named Mark Collins, who is severely wounded as well. The crime trail and the family’s trauma set a grim tone for what follows, as the assailants vanish into the night and the family reels from the shock.
Months pass, and the once-quiet life resumes in fits and starts as Mark, now recovering, stubbornly tracks down each killer one by one. He does not seek courtroom justice or sympathy; instead, he turns to the night, patrolling the streets in a mission that becomes an unmistakable vigilante campaign. He moves with a quiet, grim resolve, taking matters into his own hands and executing those responsible for the devastation that shattered his family. As the body count climbs, the line between justice and vengeance grows thinner, and the family dynamic becomes a test of loyalty, restraint, and the cost of war-worn trauma.
Meanwhile, Yvette, Mark’s wife, begins to fear the toll this relentless pursuit exacts on the family—and she urges him to abandon the path of solitary retribution. But their lives are observed from the shadows by Bill, an enigmatic businessman intent on crushing the local drug syndicate and maintaining a grip on power in the underworld. Bill uses Mark’s notoriety and the aura of fear surrounding the vigilante to further his own aims, and he doesn’t hesitate to seize leverage when it suits his plan. When Yvette is kidnapped, Bill forces Mark to continue the vigilante work, twisting the veteran’s desire for justice into a tool for someone else’s ambitions.
What follows is a tense, fierce confrontation that pushes Mark to the brink. He escapes captivity and launches a one-man assault on Bill’s compound, moving through the building with relentless determination. He weaponizes the situation, pulling from the henchmen he defeats and progressively upgrading the gear he uses as the siege intensifies. The clash reaches a brutal crescendo when Bill turns on him with a pistol, shooting Mark in the back. In a desperate, last-ditch moment, Mark reveals a hidden flare gun in his sleeve and fires, triggering a catastrophic explosion that ends Bill’s threat in a blaze of fire and debris. The screen freezes on the moment of destruction, leaving the audience with a stark, final image of the cost of vengeance.
The film closes with an epilogue-style note that leaves a somber impression about accountability and consequences, underscored by stark, documentary-style typography.
