Feeling sidelined, Dunn forges a complicated friendship with Rose Walton, whose younger sister Sammy Walton is part of the squad’s support staff, carrying water for the players. The next season, Torquay fights its way back to the Grand Final with a dramatic come-from-behind victory. At the after-match party, tragedy strikes: Sammy Walton becomes involved with Mortimer in a night that spirals out of control when Dunn, who had been urged by Rose to look out for her sister, is drugged by a spiked drink and collapses.
