Lexi soon finds herself drawn to Greg Nickels, [Andy Fischer-Price], who had recently ended things with Carleigh Taylor, [Katie Gill], and the pair start a relationship that quickly becomes more intimate than Lexi anticipated. Unbeknownst to her, Greg had agreed to a bet with his friend Jared, [Blaise Godbe Lipman], involving filming their tryst, a detail that will ripple through everyone’s lives.

Carleigh’s discovery of the bet triggers a heartbreaking chain of events. She steals Greg’s phone and forwards a video of Lexi and Greg to their classmates, sparking a viral spread that changes the social landscape of their school. Later that night, at a party, Carleigh makes a hostile remark to Lexi as she reaches for a hot dog, and Lexi—humiliated—learns not only of the video but of Greg’s cruel wager. She bolts from the party in tears, and the night’s chaos culminates in Lexi being struck by a car, dieing in view of many witnesses, including Greg and Jared, who are left grieving and stunned.

The fallout reaches Lexi’s mother Michelle and her brother Shane, who deserve real justice for Lexi but encounter a roadblock when the detective assigned to the case, Detective Morris, [Derek Phillips], explains that the teens were involved and consented, complicating the emotions and the pursuit of consequences. Greg is brought into the principal’s office, where he denies sending the video, while Carleigh, accompanied by her father, is questioned and Greg is suspended. A tense confrontation unfolds as Greg accuses Carleigh, who denies involvement; the exchange grows heated, and Greg, in a fit of anger, tries to strike her but is restrained and sent away, branded a —to his own mind—psycho.

The tension intensifies as Shane attacks Greg, convincing him that Carleigh was the one behind the leak; nonetheless, Greg is later arrested for having sex with a minor. After his release, Greg calls Carleigh to meet him in front of her house, and he records Carleigh’s confession with a hidden device. He apologizes for breaking her heart but accuses her of being a psycho and reveals that he has proof. Panicked, Carleigh retreats inside, retrieves her father’s gun, and returns to confront Greg. A struggle ensues, the gun discharges, and Greg is killed. In a frantic attempt to cover her tracks, Carleigh wipes the door, pockets Greg’s wallet, and hides the recorder, framing Shane for the murder.

Brenda Garrett, [Paula Trickey], Greg’s mother, returns home to find her son dead, setting off a fresh wave of grief. Shane is arrested, but as his mother and Michelle pursue the truth, they begin to believe Carleigh is the real architect of the tragedy. They contact Jared, who is with Carleigh, and uncover that the school has installed surveillance cameras. The new detail—monitored footage from the school—becomes a crucial turning point: it shows Carleigh entering and leaving the locker room during the window when Lexi’s video circulated, providing time-stamped evidence of her involvement.

Michelle and Brenda press forward, confronting Carleigh with the evidence. Carleigh confesses to her actions to her father, John Taylor, [Joe Penny], who is drawn into the confrontation as well. The family fight intensifies as they realize the extent of Carleigh’s manipulation, and the gravity of the charges against her escalates. In a moment of panic, Carleigh grabs the gun again, threatening to kill Greg’s memory and, in a tragic twist, injures herself instead of others. She is ultimately detained, her fate tied to the cascade of decisions that began with the viral video.

In the months that follow, Shane is released and reveals that he has passed his exams and earned a place at a university. The final image is of a quiet celebration between mother and son, sharing a meal to mark a difficult but hopeful turn in their lives, a reminder that truth and resilience can endure even after a torrent of harm.
