Beaver Trilogy 2000

In 1979 filmmaker Trent Harris meets a hopeful teen from Beaver, Utah in a Salt Lake City parking lot and follows him to a small‑town talent show where the youth, in a blond wig, lip‑syncs as Olivia Newton‑John. Harris records this outsider portrait, then produces two dramatized versions: 1981’s low‑budget “Beaver Kid 2” starring a young Sean Penn, and the AFI‑funded finale “The Orkly Kid” with Crispin Glover, completing the Beaver Trilogy.
