Spoilers ahead
Mickey, portrayed by Luke Kenny, is an American living temporarily in Mumbai, where he embarks on a quest to find an instrumentalist who can skillfully play the Indian banjo. His journey amidst the bustling city leads him to reconnect with his friend Christina, played by Nargis Fakhri, who is aspiring to participate in a music festival. While attempting to reach out to Christina, Mickey stumbles upon a local concert put together by a group of underprivileged friends, with the charismatic Taraat, brilliantly enacted by Ritesh Deshmukh, taking the lead. Unbeknownst to Mickey, Taraat is precisely the talent that he and Christina need to make an impact at the music festival.
