He eventually faced with Sylvester, and the tension builds toward a confrontation: Elmer lifts his shotgun, ready to put a stop to the serenade, but just as he is about to pull the trigger, Sylvester softens the moment with a sweet, gentle lullaby. The lullaby works long enough to lull Elmer into sleep, and the cat even manages to tuck him back into bed. In a final, comic twist, one of the spirits even steals Elmer’s halo, and overwhelmed by the chorus and the celestial mischief, Elmer barrels off his cloud in a rush, a dramatic crash echoing off-screen as the scene fades.
